‘The Bear and the Crow’by Lucy Brasher ‘the cat in the shoe’
'And when the leaves would leave the trees and the air would begin to cool Bear would sleep and Crow would wait. Crow would watch the world turn white and wait for Bear. He didn’t mind the waiting, it was not lonely. Crow did not feel lonely anymore.
And Bear did not sleep for all that long as he worried about
Crow being on his own. “Oh Bear, time on your own is not the same as being alone don’t you see?’ I stopped being alone the moment I met you.”
But Bear still worried for Crow. It seems you cannot stop a bear worrying once he has set his mind to it.'
This large textile sculpture is taken from my book 'The Bear and the Crow'.
